Chesil Model Flying Club<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n

Chesil Model Flying Club, based in the countryside of Dorset, was formed by the combined efforts of Richard Wellbourne and Phil Parmiter. The club’s main aims are to promote safe and fun radio control flying for all kinds of model aircraft types including electric, petrol  and glow powered flight, gliders, drones, helicopters  and control line. Some fly scale models and other 3D aerobatic planes,<\/p>\n

With the site located in a full sized runway there is easily enough room for you to come and visit Chesil Model Flying Club. Another benefit of a large field is that it makes an easy area for beginners to learn to fly model planes, with no trees or fences to worry about!<\/p>\n

We are members of the British Model Flying Association.<\/a><\/p>\n

Chesil Model Flying Club always welcomes beginners<\/a>, so if you are thinking about taking up the hobby of r\/c model aircraft flying, or just want to see what happens at a model flying club, just come along and have a look! If you want to fly or see some people and planes at the site, the best time to come to Chesil Model Flying Club would be either a Saturday or a Sunday mid morning.<\/p>\n

If you want to have a tutored test flight with Chesil Model Flying Club, you will pair up with one of the club instructors, and using a ‘Buddy-box’ radio control system (which allows the instructor to take control of the plane at any time in case of an emergency) you will be taught the basics of flight. A small fee of \u00a33 (To cover model fuel and help club funds etc.) will have to be paid to the instructor. You can have up to 3 trials before you have to join.<\/p>\n

The Chesil Model Flying Club Display Team flies at a variety of shows<\/a> including Burton Bradstock, Castle Combe Steam Rally, Corscombe Fete, Woodspring Wings, Lyme Regis RNLI Night Flying, South Cerney Steam Rally, Halstock and Bovington model shows.<\/p>\n

Every year we host a Fun Day in summer when members of other clubs are invited to join us for an informal fly-in with barbeque and raffle.<\/p>\n

In the winter we hold indoor flying.<\/p>\n
